Our
goal at Mid Carolina Cardiology (MCC) is
to provide not only a remarkable patient experience but also exceptional
outcomes. With this in mind, MCC began
using an electronic medical record (EMR) in 1999. The ability to track and query data from our
entire patient population, across multiple offices, facilitates the delivery of
guideline based medical practice. Information
from our EMR allows MCC to continuously analyze and adjust the delivery of
care.
The
ability to deliver ideal care in an outpatient setting will always be a
challenge as patient compliance is a significant component of success. MCC works to educate patients on the
importance of their role in disease prevention and management, and encourages patients
to take ownership of their health.
Patients
also benefit from our use of the EMR. It
allows us to further identify those patients that may benefit from one of the
many leading-edge research trials in which the group is currently participating.
